ABOUT ME
I have always enjoyed taking
the road less traveled.
In 1999, I was a professional musician who was signed to Outpost/Geffen Records with my band Hot Sauce Johnson and then signed in 2002 to Roadrunner/Island Def Jam with my band Rumblefish. During this time, I learned promotion, branding, social media, and advertising while creating brand awareness for my groups.
After touring for a few years, I started working at the World Famous Whisky a Go-Go as the production manager and eventually moved on to the Roxy Theatre where I was the Production Manager and then promoted to General Manager.
I designed some of the original ads for both venues that were featured in various magazines, most notably LA Weekly and LA Times. I also did street and digital promotion for them and for other venues, such as the Viper Room and Key Club...
Eventually, I moved on from my music career and helped create a tennis company, Ultimate Tennis in Brentwood, CA. During this time, I also accepted the brand manager position at ACEing Autism, which is a non-profit dedicated to bringing tennis to kids on the spectrum.
A unique opportunity presented itself that I could not pass up at a high-end jewelry company called Julez Bryant, and for the first year, I helped build the brand into a respected industry darling. I handled the digital ads and managed the social media platforms. A team consisting of a photographer, a web designer and I brought the company to a vast mainstream audience. We exponentially grew the social media platforms, which led to acceptance into the premier trade show Couture; which featured the world's top jewelry designers (Only the top 200 jewelry designers in the world are invited to participate).In addition, due to our amazing financial growth, we were able to launch the first Julez Bryant flagship store in Solana Beach, CA.
While growing Julez Bryant over the span of 5 years, I fell in love with the sport of pickleball and used my extensive tennis coaching experience to transition into coaching pickleball at the Pickleball Club of Carlsbad (PBC). I was soon asked to join the start-up company called Nexxed Pickleball, after they found out what I had accomplished with Julez Bryant in the digital marketing realm. I helped create and direct all the digital marketing which helped brand awareness and built a core following that led to selling our product as quickly as we could manufacture it (unfortunately, the company is on hold due to legal trademark issues, and I decided to take on a new adventure. I will continue to do some remote work for them when they relaunch in 2024.)
I played pickleball with a successful entrepreneur who was impressed by my work with Nexxed and PBC. He recently asked me to both partner with and promote his company, The Iron Man DJ. On a part-time basis, I have created all the digital ads and am in the process of creating awareness and increasing bookings while helping the company become a national franchise.
I truly enjoy and am always excited to work for and take on new small business adventures with the digital world at my disposal.
